Abstract : To study the rheological characteristics of erythrocytes irradiated by low-power He-Ne laser, we measured some parameters of the rheological characteristics of erythrocytes irradiated with different doses of energy, such as deformation index, microviscosity , membrane fluidity, osmotic fragility et al. As for human's normal erythrocytes, the optical effect of irradiation on erythrocytes obtained was 0.24Jof energy in 2ml. After irradiation, the deformation index and the membrane fluidity of the erythrocytes increased, however osmotic fragility decreased. Our study indicated that the low-power He-Ne laser irradiation has statistically evident effects on the rheological characteristics of human's red cells.
