Abstract: A YAG double-frequency laser microbeams was used to irradiate Bufo bufo gargarizens at the gastrula stage of its early development. The patterns of protein expression were investigated in gastrula by two-dimensional electrophoresis after irradiation with a laser. PDQuest software was used to examine the distribution of protein spots in two-dimensional gels after scanning with a GS-800 protein densitometer. The results demonstrated that protein expression was influenced by laser irradiation and the total number of protein spots was related to the intensity of the laser beam. There were some proteins obviously changed in laser treatment groups compared to the control and some spots visible in the treatment groups but not observed in the control.
