Abstract: Optical tweezers and dielectrophoresis are both noninvading micromanipulation methods, developing rapidly and applied widely. However we should select appropriate technology according to different research aims. Whereas they have similar characteristics and different advantages, the working principle of them is introduced briefly in this article. And various comparisons are introduced in the trapping, separation, rotation of particles and measurements relating to physical quantities. The advantages of optical tweezers and dielectrophoresis are also illustrated. Accordingly, combination of them develop gradually and should be good prospect.
