The 16S rDNA sequence analysis and identification of the nicotine degrading bacterial strain YC-68

Yuan Shi Hao et. al.

Abstract:When the temperature was up to 68¡æ during the process of modulating tobacco, a bacteria designated YC-68 was separated, which could decompose the nicotine. Through conventional morphologic, physiological, biochemical analysis, this bacteria is defined as a Bacillus strain.According to the conservative character of its invariable area, we designed a couple of primers, which would amplify 16S rDNA sequence. We collected the PCR product and conducted sequence analysis. Afterwards, the sequence result was submitted to GenBank to take a serial homologous analysis through BLAST. According to the analysis data, it was identified as Bacillus cereus.
