Abstract: Raman spectroscopy is a suitable method for probing the relationship between structure, dynamics and function of biomolecules. In this review, some recent advances of Raman spectroscopy on protein conformation are summarized. Raman spectroscopy has been used to characterize protein unfolding and assembly. Raman crystallography has been instrumental in the monitoring of chemical events in single-protein crystals in real time. In addition, the application of Raman spectroscopy on proteins analysis in biotechnology is proposed. We also predicted the further application and development of Raman spectroscopy on other biomolecules.
