Abstract: We have found that the growing and stretching rhythm of the first branches of the introduced 'Zhanhuadongzao' jujube, pear jujube and jun jujube in the southern areas of Hunan , is similar to that of the local strain jidan jujube; the first branches of young plants have two tangible growing and stretching process. The yearly growth volume of the first branches of the three introduced strains is smaller than the local strain jidan jujube, yet their proportion of the growing volume in Autumn is bigger than that of jidan jujube. The fruits of the three introduced strains are all bigger than jidan jujube, their fruit growth pattern is similar to that of jidan jujube, But the growing and developing periods of fruits of the introduced Chinese jujube are all longer than those of jidan jujube. The growing and developing period of the Zhanhuadongzao jujube's fruits is longest, which lasts 100-110 days., pear jujube's period lasts 70-75 days, jun jujube's period lasts about 85 days, while jidan jujube's period lasts nearly 65 -70days.
