Abstract: In this paper, twenty-six transferred oppositifolious self-lines of F4 generation were orientationally selected for continuous ten generations, and effects of three combination modes (oppositifolious × alternate, oppositifolious × oppositifolious, alternate × alternate) on oppositifolious frequency were compared. The results show as follows:continuously orientational selection is an effective technical approach for obtaining stable oppositifolious lines. When the oppositifolious character is in different genetic background, the process and efficiency of orientational selection is different. Different combination modes have different effects on the breeding of F1 full-oppositifolious plants. As far as oppositifolious frequency of F1 is concerned, oppositifolious × oppositifolious is the highest and oppositifolious×alternate is higher than alternate × alternate. In the view of F1 heterosis, alternate × alternate is the strongest and oppositifolious × alternate is stonger than oppositifolious×oppositifolious.
