Abstract: The effects of CO2 concentration on the microstructure and ultrastructure of the leaves in Guzmania 'Denise' were compared following the exposure to ambient CO2 (CK: 360±30μmol·mol-1) and elevated (T1: 600±40μmol·mol-1, T2: 900±40μmol·mol-1) carbon dioxide concentration. The results indicated that under elevated CO2 concentration, the thickness of mesophyll cell, the numbers and size of chloroplast were increased obviously in treatment of elevated CO2 concentration, so as the starch grain of the chloroplast. But the ultrastructure of photosynthetic membrane in chloroplast was damaged.
