Effectiveness of alexandrite laser for hair removal in 350 patients

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the effect of hair removal using alexandrite laser. Methods:A total of 350 patients with unwanted hair were treated by alexandrite laser (wavelength: 755 nm, 30ms pulsewidth). The 350 patients were divided into several groups according to the hair of different parts of the body, and the curative effects were analyzed. Results:After several times treatment, the effective rate is 83.71%. We found that there was different effective rate in different part and the number of operation correlated with the effectiveness. Pigmentation occurred in 1.43% of the patients (5/350). Conclusion:Hair removal by alexandrite laser has permanent effect. No severe side-effect is observed.
